For non-managerial roles:
At Schneider Electric, non-managerial staff have a contract for a 35-hour working week (7 hours 36 minutes per day), averaged over the year.
In practice, this means:
- 38 hours of actual working time per week, i.e. 7 hours 36 minutes per day
- 18 days of RTT (including bridging RTT days) over the year, as compensation.
Any hours worked per week in excess of these 38 hours are considered overtime. (Unless a local flexibility agreement applies).
The payslip therefore shows the average number of hours per week (35 hours), plus any overtime worked in excess of 38 hours (unless a flexibility agreement applies).
The payslip therefore states the hours specified in the employment contract (35 hours)
Paylink tracks the actual hours worked on which RTT days are based (38 hours per week).
For managerial roles on a fixed-hour basis:
At Schneider Electric, employees on a fixed-hour basis have a contract for 36.5 hours per week (7 hours 54 minutes per day) on average over the year, which breaks down into 35 hours plus 1.5 hours of overtime on average.
Please note: this overtime is tax-exempt provided the government’s budget retains this method of calculating income tax for the following year.
In practice, this means:
- 38 hours plus 1.5 hours = 39.5 hours of actual work per week, i.e. 7 hours 54 minutes per day, recorded in Paylink under ‘time entry’
- 19 days of RTT over the year as compensation (including long weekend RTTs).
Please note: it is on the basis of these 4 x 39.5-hour cycles that employees are entitled to the half-day’s compensation if they have completed their hours in fewer than 20 days of the cycle…
The payslip therefore shows the contracted working hours (36 hours 30 minutes)
Paylink therefore tracks the actual working hours on which RTT days are based (39.5 hours per week) and on which half-day compensatory leave is granted (per 4-week cycle).
